MY MOBILE WITNESS

MMW is an app designed to allow citizens to geo tag suspicious activity that may otherwise not be communicated to law enforcement. The app several user roles, one being the one of the citizen, although in this case study we will only look at that of the Analyst.

LOGO REFRESH

While I had some downtime during the project I refreshed their existing logo to be a little cleaner and match the new tweaked brand colors.

Dashboard

The main screen within the Analyst Portal. I designed the portal to be vh100 to always show the footer, having the content area scroll.

As well as a cleaner UI, I put a good amount of thought exactly how to restructure the data. Any data that one would need to sift through tips would remain on the thumbnail itself, with most important on the left to least important on the right. Once an analyst has found the tip they want to interact with, all detailed info would be found inside the accordion.

Comparing to the Old Design

One more major deviation from the previous build was having the map specific to each tip. Previously there was one map that was shared between all tips. Not only did this take up a large ammount of realistate, but it considered too much of a future state of the app. It assumed so many users would be sending in tips that many would exist at the same time. For now an Analyst can expand a tip, click the map, and then see all locations in the expanded view.

Tablet Responsive

Designing for tablet was extremely important for all the social workers on the road that need to be sent to a location via analyst.
